Use in backup mode

Utilisation en mode back-up

The inverter can be used as a "back-up" without photovoltaic panels. In this mode, the inverter acts as a UPS to protect your devices from mains power cuts.

The inverter thus protects computers and audio-visual equipment, or any other sensitive load, by supplying a stable current. It guarantees an uninterrupted power supply to consumers.
The electricity produced by these pure sine wave inverters is stable.

You can choose to protect just one or several rooms in your home via the distribution box.

Utilisation en mode Off-grid (hors réseau)

Off-grid use

In this configuration, the inverter uses the solar panels to power appliances and charge the batteries when the sun is shining. The inverter draws power from the batteries to ensure energy supply at night.

It is possible to connect a generator to the inverter’s AC input to provide a backup power supply.

Utilisation en mode hybride

Hybrid mode

The inverter draws power from the grid only if the batteries are empty and solar generation was insufficient to cover consumption.

The inverter never feeds power back into the grid.

As with ‘back-up’ mode, it is possible to connect only part of your domestic installation to the inverter. Appliances connected to the inverter will always be powered, even in the event of a mains power cut. What’s more, these appliances will be powered for free!

Convertisseur Pure Sinus

Pure Sine Wave Inverter

The Multisolar II is a pure sine wave inverter that produces power of a quality similar to that of the mains grid. It can be used to power all types of appliances.

Maximum load current of 300 A

The Multisolar II incorporates an MPPT charge controller capable of delivering a maximum charge current of 300 A

Régulateur MPPT

MPPT controller

The Multisolar II also features MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology, meaning it constantly searches for the maximum power point, thereby enabling the best performance to be drawn from the photovoltaic panels. As well as boosting the energy output of a system, it optimises battery charging and extends their lifespan. It scans the panel voltage to find the maximum power output point and is able to adjust the voltage supplied by the panel to match the voltage the battery can accept.

You can set your device’s operating mode using a timer. Set your own time slot in the settings.
With this setting, you can define the priority of your inverter’s output source, for example, to choose to charge your batteries during off-peak hours.

    FAQ - Multisolar II 15kW three-phase hybrid inverter (15000VA, 230/400VAC)

    WattUneed.com FAQ
    1. What is the Multisolar II 15kW used for in self-consumption? +
It is a three-phase hybrid inverter designed to power your appliances, manage battery charging and discharging and, if necessary, use a grid input for backup. It optimises self-consumption by prioritising solar energy according to the selected mode. [Source]
    2. What are the main technical specifications (power, MPPT, dimensions)? +
    Inverter power: 15,000 VA, three-phase 230/400 VAC, with 2 MPPT. Dimensions: 660 mm (W) x 750 mm (H) x 255 mm (depth). Weight: 78 kg. [Source]
    3. Is the inverter waterproof (IP65) and suitable for dusty/humid environments? +
Yes. Its IP65 rating indicates protection against dust and water, making it suitable for a wide range of installation conditions, including those with atmospheric humidity and dust. [Source]
    4. What is the benefit of the 2 MPPT controllers for photovoltaic output? +
The two independent MPPT trackers optimise output across two strings/orientations. MPPT technology continuously seeks the maximum power point to extract the best performance from the panels and optimise battery charging. [Source]
    5. What battery functions (charging, protection, BMS) are included? +
The charging current and voltage are adjustable, with a maximum charging current of 300 A. It is possible to limit or prevent charging via the grid, to limit battery discharge in order to preserve their lifespan, and a dedicated communication port for the BMS (RS485) is provided, with low-battery protection. [Source]
    6. What are the three operating modes (priority, backup, solar + grid)? +
Three modes are indicated: ‘Solar Priority’, ‘Backup’ and ‘Solar and Grid’. You can also select an operating mode via a timer and set a time slot, for example to recharge your batteries during off-peak hours. [Source]
    7. Can it operate in backup (UPS) or off-grid mode, and with a generator? +
Yes. In “back-up” mode, it can be used as a UPS even without photovoltaic panels, to protect sensitive loads by supplying a stable current (pure sine wave). In off-grid mode, it powers loads and charges the batteries when the sun is shining; the specification also indicates the possibility of connecting a generator to the AC input to provide a backup power supply. [Source]
    8. Does it feed back into the grid and how can the installation be monitored (WiFi / software)? +
The product sheet states that it never feeds power back into the grid. Monitoring is facilitated by the built-in WiFi and the SolarPower software (version mentioned: SolarPower 1.20SP10). Parallel operation of up to 6 units (up to 90 kW) and support for 150% unbalanced load are also specified. [Source]
