The Huawei SUN2000-5KTL-L1: a silent 5 kW inverter, the most powerful in the L1 range

The Huawei SUN2000-5KTL-L1 is the 5,000 W single-phase hybrid inverter in the L1 range — the most powerful model in the series. It is designed for homes of 100 to 160 m² with an annual consumption of 4,000 to 7,000 kWh. It shares the key features of the SUN2000-4.6KTL-L1: 98.4% efficiency, fanless passive cooling and a weight of just 12 kg — but with 7,500 Wp of connectable panels, 600 Wp more than the 4.6K, to make the most of a larger roof area.






What this inverter actually does

5 kW: the Synergrid single-phase power limit in Belgium

In Belgium, Synergrid regulations limit the power of single-phase inverters connected to the grid to 5,000 VA. The SUN2000-5KTL-L1 is exactly at this limit — it is the most powerful Huawei inverter that can be installed in a single-phase system with feed-in to the Belgian grid. If you wish to exceed 5 kW, you will need to switch to three-phase.

With a maximum PV power of 7,500 Wp, the SUN2000-5KTL-L1 supports approximately 15 to 18 panels of 400–500 Wp, distributed across its 2 independent MPPT trackers (range 90–560V, max 600V, 12.5A per MPPT). This PV oversizing compared to the nominal power of 5 kW (ratio 1.5×) ensures maximum output even during periods of low sunlight.

The SUN2000-5KTL-L1 shares with the 4.6K the two key features of the L1 range:
