This product is a straight wind deflector used to protect the side of a row of solar panels installed on a flat roof with the FlatFix Fusion system. It acts as a side finishing piece that reduces the impact of wind and weather on the photovoltaic field, while maintaining moderate ventilation around the modules to promote passive cooling.
This accessory is designed for panels 98 to 104 cm wide and integrates directly into the FlatFix Fusion ecosystem. The deflector is sold individually and , for complete protection of the system, two pieces are required: a left deflector and a right deflector. In addition, rear protection is provided by the FlatFix Fusion rear wind deflector, and mechanical wind resistance is reinforced with the FlatFix Fusion ballast rack, depending on the size of the installation.
The design and materials of the deflector contribute to more stable operation of the PV array and can help keep the panels up to 5°C cooler, which helps to maintain yield and longevity on an exposed installation.

The FlatFix Fusion left wind deflector is a crucial aerodynamic protection component for photovoltaic installations on flat roofs. Designed by ESDEC, this side fairing closes the mounting structure to prevent wind from rushing under the solar panels, thereby drastically reducing uplift force.
On a flat roof, wind creates areas of high and low pressure. Without deflectors, the installation acts like a sail, which would require excessive ballast (weight) to remain in place.
