Deye SG01HP3-EU-BM4 50 kW three-phase hybrid inverter – The benchmark for large-scale solar installations

The Deye SUN-50K-SG01HP3-EU-BM4 is a 50 kW three-phase hybrid inverter designed for professional photovoltaic projects requiring performance, reliability and scalability. Its dual high-voltage battery input, 4 independent MPPT trackers and UPS switchover in under 4 ms make it a strategic choice for industrial buildings, agricultural operations, commercial premises and installations with optimised self-consumption.

4 independent MPPT trackers for maximised output

The inverter features 4 independent MPPT trackers, each accepting 2 strings and an input current of 36A. The MPPT voltage range extends from 150 to 850 Vdc, with a maximum PV voltage of 1,000 Vdc. The maximum PV power accepted is 80,000 Wp, offering a wide margin of overcapacity to compensate for partial shading or multiple orientations. MPPT efficiency exceeds 99%, ensuring optimal extraction of the energy produced.

Dual high-voltage battery inputs 160–800 Vdc

The SG01HP3-EU-BM4 features two independent battery inputs, each supporting up to 50A on charge and 50A on discharge, totalling 100A. The battery voltage range of 160 to 800 Vdc ensures broad compatibility with the main high-voltage lithium-ion battery technologies on the market. BMS communication is self-adaptive via CAN or RS-485, without the need for complex manual configuration. This dual input also allows two separate battery banks to be connected, providing redundancy or increased storage capacity without additional equipment.

UPS mode: switchover in less than 4 ms

In the event of a mains power failure, the Deye 50 kW switches to stand-alone mode in under 4 ms, making it suitable for powering sensitive loads: servers, industrial controllers, medical equipment or control systems. This switchover time is one of the shortest in its class, comparable to dedicated UPS units, with the added benefit of comprehensive solar and storage management.

Multiple operating modes

The inverter supports all operating modes of a modern hybrid system:

  • On-grid: feeding into and/or self-consumption with the public grid
  • Off-grid: stand-alone power supply without the grid, using batteries and PV
  • Hybrid: combination of grid, PV and battery with intelligent priority management
  • AC-coupling: adding battery storage to an existing grid-connected system without replacing the existing solar inverter
  • Generator: dedicated input for a generator as a backup or to top up the battery

Programming of 6 charging/discharging time slots allows the inverter’s behaviour to be adapted to off-peak/peak tariffs or to specific constraints imposed by the grid operator.

Smart energy management and time slots

Beyond the basic modes, the Deye SG01HP3-EU-BM4 incorporates advanced energy management functions. The 6 programmable time slots allow you to define precisely when the battery should charge (from the grid or the PV system), when it should discharge, and to what depth. This fine-tuned management is particularly useful in contexts of dynamic pricing or demand response contracts, where it is cost-effective to store energy at night at reduced rates and release it during peak hours. The system also adapts to grid injection constraints imposed by certain distribution network operators.

Parallel operation with up to 10 units

The Deye 50 kW can be combined with 9 other identical units to achieve a total power output of 500 kW in a parallel configuration. This modularity is particularly suited to industrial projects, commercial buildings or agricultural operations with high energy requirements, offering the possibility of gradually expanding capacity without overhauling the system architecture. Communication between inverters is via RS-485.

Recommended applications

Industrial and commercial sites

With 50 kW of power distributed across 3 phases and a nominal output current of 72.5A per phase, the SG01HP3-EU-BM4 is designed to power heavy three-phase loads: compressors, industrial pumps, production lines and centralised air conditioning. Compatibility with generator sets ensures uninterrupted power supply at critical sites, even during prolonged grid outages.

Residential properties and isolated buildings

In off-grid mode, the inverter powers the entire building from the PV system and batteries, without a grid connection. Hybrid mode allows for a gradual transition to self-sufficiency, whilst retaining the grid as a safety net. UPS switching in under 4 ms guarantees an uninterrupted power supply to sensitive equipment, even during grid fluctuations.

Agricultural operations

Agricultural installations face high peak loads (irrigation pumps, ventilation motors, cold stores) on potentially unbalanced phases. The Deye 50 kW is designed to handle these peaks whilst optimising self-consumption of local solar generation. The IP65-rated robustness and extended operating temperature range (-40°C to +60°C) ensure reliability in exposed agricultural environments.

Extending an existing installation via AC coupling

AC-coupling mode allows the Deye SG01HP3 to be connected downstream of an existing grid-tied inverter to add battery storage capacity, without dismantling or replacing the original solar inverter. This approach significantly reduces the cost and complexity of migrating to a hybrid system for sites that are already equipped.

Remote monitoring and the Deye platform

Monitoring is carried out via the Deye web portal and mobile app, with connection options including Wi-Fi, 4G, LAN, Bluetooth or GPRS depending on the chosen configuration. The platform enables immediate remote shutdown in the event of an incident, remote firmware updates and adjustment of all parameters without the need for physical on-site intervention. This centralised monitoring is particularly valuable for installers managing a multi-site portfolio or operators wishing to track production in real time.

Robustness and certifications

With its IP65 protection rating, the SG01HP3-EU-BM4 can be installed outdoors or in premises exposed to humidity and dust. It operates from -40°C to +60°C with automatic derating above 45°C, up to an altitude of 2,000 m (derating above this altitude). The noise level is 65 dB or less. The built-in protections cover DC and AC overvoltage, short circuit, reverse polarity, overload and anti-islanding. The inverter is certified to the main European and international standards: EN 50549, VDE-AR-N 4105, G99, IEC 62116, IEC 0-21, IEC 61727, OVE-Richtlinie R25, amongst others.

What is the difference between the Deye SG01HP3-EU-BM4 50 kW and the Multisolar F16 30 kW?
The Deye SG01HP3-EU-BM4 outperforms the Multisolar F16 in several key areas. Its rated power is 50,000 W (compared to 30,000 W), it supports up to 80,000 Wp of PV (compared to 40,000 Wp) via 4 MPPT (compared to 3). Its high-voltage battery range extends from 160 to 800 V (compared to 600–1,000 V for the Multisolar), with a dual battery input of 2×50 A allowing two independent battery banks to be connected simultaneously. The UPS switchover time is less than 4 ms (compared to a typical 10 ms), making it suitable for truly sensitive loads (servers, CNC machines, medical equipment). Up to 10 units can be connected in parallel (compared to 4 for the Multisolar), for a total power output of 500 kW. Its maximum operating altitude is 2,000 m and it comes with a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Which batteries are compatible and how does the dual 2×50 A battery input work?
The Deye SG01HP3-EU-BM4 is designed for high-voltage lithium-ion batteries in the 160 to 800 Vdc range, with automatic adaptation to the BMS via CAN or RS-485. The dual battery input (2×50 A charging and 2×50 A discharging, i.e. 100 A total in each direction) allows two independent HV battery strings to be connected simultaneously. This architecture offers increased redundancy — if one string fails, the second continues to power the loads — and enables the creation of very high-capacity storage systems (several hundred kWh) by combining the two inputs. This dual input is a major distinguishing feature compared to most industrial inverters on the market, which have only a single battery connection.
How many solar panels can be connected and how are the 4 MPPTs organised?
The Deye SG01HP3-EU-BM4 features 4 fully independent MPPT trackers, each accepting 2 strings, giving a total of 8 physical inputs. Each MPPT supports an input current of 36 A and a short-circuit current of 55 A. The maximum PV voltage is 1,000 Vdc, the MPPT range extends from 150 to 850 Vdc and the nominal PV input voltage is 600 V. The maximum PV power stated in the technical data sheet is 80,000 Wp, allowing for the installation of large-scale systems on industrial roofs, warehouses, car park canopies or agricultural sheds. The 4 independent MPPT orientations are ideal for shed roofs or multi-sided buildings with varying exposures.
Is it possible to connect several Deye 50K units in parallel, and what total power can be achieved?
Yes, the Deye SG01HP3-EU-BM4 supports parallel operation of up to 10 units on a single three-phase installation, enabling a combined output power of 500,000 W (500 kW). This scalability without a change in technology is particularly suited to industrial projects, large retail spaces, university campuses, data centres or agrivoltaic parks. Each additional unit proportionally increases the PV capacity (up to 800 kWp for 10 units), the connected storage capacity and the available backup power. Multi-inverter synchronisation is managed automatically via the integrated RS-485 communication.
What is the sub-4 ms UPS mode and what loads can it protect?
The Deye SG01HP3-EU-BM4 switches to backup mode (UPS) in under 4 ms during a mains power cut, which is two to three times faster than standard residential hybrid inverters (10 ms). This switchover speed is fast enough that the vast majority of sensitive equipment — server power supplies, industrial PLCs, CNC machines, medical equipment, control systems — will not even detect the interruption. The rated output current is 72.5 A per phase (83.4 A max), and the maximum continuous power from the mains to the load reaches 200 A, enabling high-power equipment to be powered without restriction during outages. This is a decisive factor for industrial or commercial sites with zero tolerance for power cuts.
In which European and international countries is the Deye SG01HP3-EU-BM4 certified for grid connection?
The Deye SG01HP3-EU-BM4 is certified for grid connection in a large number of countries thanks to its multiple approvals: EN 50549 and IEC 61727 (Europe in general), VDE-AR-N 4105 (Germany), G99 (United Kingdom), IEC 0-21 (Italy), OVE-Richtlinie R25 (Austria), RD 140 (Spain), UNE 217002 (Spain), NRS 097 (South Africa), IEC 62116 (international anti-islanding). It also complies with the EMC standards IEC/EN 61000-6 and IEC/EN 62109. This range of certifications makes it a suitable choice for integrators or distributors operating in several European countries, particularly for cross-border projects or fleets of installations managed on a continental scale.
Can the Deye SG01HP3-EU-BM4 operate at high altitudes and in extreme weather conditions?
Yes. The Deye SG01HP3-EU-BM4 operates without derating up to an altitude of 2,000 m, making it suitable for installations in mountainous areas (the Alps, Pyrenees, Andes or African mountain ranges). Its operating temperature range extends from −40 °C to +60 °C (with derating above +45 °C), covering the most extreme environments, from northern winters to industrial deserts. The IP65 rating guarantees complete protection against dust and water jets, allowing installation outdoors or in unheated industrial premises with relative humidity up to 100%. Its intelligent air-cooling system controls the fans according to the actual thermal load, maintaining a noise level of 65 dB or less. Weighing 80 kg and measuring 527 × 894 × 294 mm, it requires a sturdy wall mount or a dedicated rack.
