Installation Advice

Before installation, ensure that the P1 port of your smart meter is activated by your grid operator (ORES, RESA, Fluvius, Sibelga, etc.). Pairing with the station is done wirelessly by simply bringing the Equalizer close to the station's reader.





FAQ - Easee Equalizer P1

1. How do I know if my meter is compatible with the P1 version? +
The Equalizer P1 is designed exclusively for digital smart meters equipped with a P1 (RJ12 socket) communication port. This is the current standard for new meters in Belgium and the Netherlands. If your meter is old (analog/spinning disk), you should choose the "Standard" version with CT clamps.
2. Do I need my grid operator to intervene for the installation? +
The physical installation is Plug & Play, but you must request the software activation of the P1 port from your grid operator (ORES, RESA, Fluvius, Sibelga, etc.). Once the port is open, simply plug in the provided RJ12 cable for the Equalizer to start reading your consumption data.
3. Can I charge my car using only my solar panels? +
Yes, that is one of the major benefits. By connecting the Equalizer P1, you unlock the Smart Charging function in the Easee app. You can configure the station to use only the surplus energy produced by your photovoltaic panels, making your charging 100% free and renewable.
4. How does the Equalizer communicate with my charging station? +
The Equalizer communicates with the Easee station via the Easee Link™ wireless protocol (long-range radio frequency) or via your Wi-Fi network. Initial pairing is extremely simple: just hold the Equalizer against the front of your charging station until you hear a confirmation beep.
