The SolaX X1-Boost-3K-G4 is a 3, 000 W single-phase grid-tied inverter from the X1-Boost G4 range — a separate and more advanced platform than the X1-Mini G4 (1 MPPT only). Whereas the X1-Mini G4 is designed for small, simple rooftops with 1 MPPT and 200% oversizing, the X1-Boost G4 features 2 independent MPPT trackers with global MPP tracking, a start-up voltage lowered to 50 V, built-in I-V curve diagnostics, and native compatibility with home energy management systems (EV charging points, heat pumps, Datahub/Modbus). It is the go-to solution for residential installations with complex configurations looking to go beyond simple PV self-consumption.
The X1-Boost-3K-G4 supports 200% DC oversizing, i.e. up to 6,000 Wp of installed PV power for a nominal 3,000 W AC. This over-sizing capability is particularly valuable for installations in Belgium, France and countries with moderate sunshine: by over-sizing the PV array, you maximise production during periods of low sunshine (morning, evening, winter) and reach the inverter’s full power output earlier and for longer during the day. The inverter simply caps summer production peaks at midday, a time when the grid is generally at its lowest voltage. The maximum input current is 16 A per MPPT, with an exceptionally low start-up voltage of 50 V — enabling generation from the very first light of day.
The X1-Boost-3K-G4 features 2 independent MPPT trackers, allowing two strings of panels with different orientations, tilt angles or numbers of modules to be connected without cross-penalisation. The MPPT range extends from 50 to 550 Vdc, with a maximum input voltage of 600 Vdc. The integrated global MPP scanning function periodically scans the entire characteristic curve of each string to identify the true global maximum power point, even in the presence of partial shading that creates multiple local maxima. This function is particularly effective for east/west-facing roofs, L-shaped roofs or installations with intermittent shading (trees, chimneys, dormer windows).
The X1-Boost-3K-G4 features I-V curve diagnostics — an advanced function that analyses the shape of each string’s current-voltage curve to detect component anomalies: degraded cells, faulty bypass diodes, resistive connections, and mismatched modules. This diagnostic enables proactive maintenance and rapid identification of performance drops, without the need for specialised external measurement equipment.
The X1-Boost-3K-G4 features standard export control (via a current transformer CT or external energy meter). This function allows the injection into the grid to be limited or completely stopped (zero export mode), by dynamically controlling the power injected based on the household’s instantaneous consumption. In Belgium, where the prosumer tax applies to self-consumed energy but not to energy fed into the grid free of charge, this function allows the system’s behaviour to be optimised according to the chosen tariff strategy.
The X1-Boost-3K-G4 is designed to integrate into a smart home energy management ecosystem:
The X1-Boost-3K-G4 offers several optional advanced protection features:
The X1-Boost-3K-G4 is compatible with the SolaX Pocket WiFi V3.0 dongle (sold separately), enabling connection to the SolaX Cloud monitoring portal (iOS and Android app, web interface). The data update interval is 10 seconds with this dongle. The inverter is configured via the SolaX app during commissioning. Monitoring and firmware updates can be carried out remotely.
The X1-Boost-3K-G4 is cooled by natural convection, without a fan. IP66 protection — superior to the IP65 rating of many competitors, ensuring resistance to powerful water jets. Operating temperature range from -25°C to +60°C. Weight: 11 kg. The X1-Boost-3K-G4 is certified to C10/11 (Belgium), VDE-AR-N 4105, G98/G99, EN 50549 — at 3,000 W, it remains well below the Synergrid limit of 5,000 VA single-phase.
